What does Counselling/Psychotherapy look like?

Counselling / Psychotherapy initially will occur on a weekly basis. You will meet the centre manager for a FREE initial consultation where you will be assessed and matched with a therapist who best matches your individual needs. When you are allocated a therapist can work together to set out a plan that can best meet your individual needs.  Each subsequent session will last 50 minutes and will always occur with the same therapist.

How do I know if I need to attend Counselling?

Our clients often believe that only those with extreme psychological issues can and should see a therapist, but this is not the case. Everyone at one stage or another will experience a difficult period in their lives. Circumstances sometimes allow us to navigate these challenges with relative ease, but just as often we are left struggling to adapt. However, if you are struggling to understand or adapt to life’s challenges, then counselling and or psychotherapy can help.

How long would I expect to be in Therapy?

This very much depends on the individual needs of each of our clients. It can be as little as a few weeks, or span months or even longer. However, the client is always at the centre of any decision in this regard. Your therapist will work closely with you to identify the change you wish to see and then check in regularly to ensure that your needs are being met on a week by week basis.

Is Counselling and Psychotherapy completely confidential?

Counselling and Psychotherapy provides a safe and confidential environment in which to express yourself. All therapists in InSpire Therapy are mandatory reporters, and  work under strict code of ethics that safe guard everything you say within your session. There are a limited number of exceptions to confidentiality that centre on child protection laws and a threat to the safety of client or someone they know. All this will be covered by your therapist and you may ask as many questions about this as you need to feel completely safe. At the heart of everything we do as therapists is the safety of our clients.
